How it works

A WhatsApp QR code holds your number and, if you like, a message already written. Whoever scans it sees WhatsApp open on a chat with you, with the text ready to send. The content sits inside the code, which is static and never expires.

The number must include the international prefix, as WhatsApp requires; the generator strips spaces and dashes on its own. People without WhatsApp installed are taken to the service’s web page.

When to use it

Orders, bookings, support, enquiries: for many businesses WhatsApp is the channel customers write on most willingly. A code on the shop window, the menu, the van or a flyer opens the conversation without anyone saving a number.

The pre-filled message tells you where the contact came from: “Hi, I saw the flyer” shows which material is working.

Before you print

Keep the pre-filled message short and natural: whoever reads it should feel free to send it as it is. A long text makes the code denser and the print less forgiving.

The number is engraved in the code: if you change the business phone, the printed material must be redone. If that is a risk, use a QR with a dynamic link to a contact page.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to write the number with the country code?
Yes, WhatsApp requires the international country code. The generator strips spaces and dashes automatically.
Do QR codes expire or stop working?
No, the codes you generate never expire. If the owner deactivates a dynamic QR code, anyone scanning it sees a notice page instead of the destination.
