QR Code for a video

Behind the code is one of our short links, and behind the link a video on YouTube or Vimeo: the tutorial on the box, the presentation on the flyer. When a new version comes out you change the video from your dashboard, and the boxes already in the shop keep opening the right one. The same link you can also share without a code, in a chat or an email.

How it works

A video QR code leads to a film on YouTube or Vimeo. Whoever scans it opens it in the browser or in the service’s app, ready to play. The code holds a short link of ours that forwards to the video: it is dynamic, so the film can be changed from your dashboard and the printed code stays valid.

Every scan is counted, with place and time. An account is required, and the free plan is enough to start.

When to use it

A tutorial on the pack, a product presentation on a flyer, a welcome video at a venue, the trailer on a poster, a speaker’s message on an event badge: wherever a minute of video explains more than a page of text.

With the editable link you can update the video for every new product version without reprinting.

Before you print

Use the video’s share link, not the address of the page with the comments, and make sure it is public or unlisted: a private video will not open for whoever scans.

If the video is long, add the right starting point to the link. Test the opening from a phone without the app installed, which is the most common case.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the destination after printing the QR code?
Yes. The printed code always points to the same short address: change the destination from the panel and anyone scanning lands on the new content, with nothing to reprint.
Do QR codes expire or stop working?
No, the codes you generate never expire. If the owner deactivates a dynamic QR code, anyone scanning it sees a notice page instead of the destination.
