QR Code for a PDF

One of our short links, and behind it the document you uploaded: a menu, a price list, a brochure, instructions. When the document changes you replace the file and the link stays the same, so the printed label is not redone. The code is how it goes on paper; the same link you can email to whoever does not have the sign in front of them.

How it works

A PDF QR code leads to a document you upload to your account. Whoever scans it opens the file in the phone’s browser, with no extra app. The code holds a short link of ours that forwards to the document: it is dynamic, so you can replace the file whenever you like and the printed code keeps working.

Every opening is counted: you know how many times the document was consulted and from where. An account is required, and the free plan is enough to start.

When to use it

Menus, price lists, brochures, data sheets, manuals, rules, event programmes: everything that is printed in multiple copies today and changes tomorrow. With a QR on the sign or the pack, the current version is always the one that opens.

It also suits documents not worth printing in full: a safety sheet behind a label, the instruction booklet on the product.

Before you print

Prepare the PDF for the phone: pages readable without zooming, a light file, selectable text. A heavy document opens slowly on mobile data and whoever scans will not wait.

The code stays the same when you change the file: you can print before the document is final. Keep a white margin around the image and check that it opens on both systems.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the destination after printing the QR code?
Yes. The printed code always points to the same short address: change the destination from the panel and anyone scanning lands on the new content, with nothing to reprint.
Do QR codes expire or stop working?
No, the codes you generate never expire. If the owner deactivates a dynamic QR code, anyone scanning it sees a notice page instead of the destination.
